Frequently Asked Questions

PAINT SHIELD FAQs

What is the difference between a car wax and Paint Shield?

Dagda Paint Shield has been formulated to be used as a stand-alone product. Paint Shield is extremely hydrophobic and provides for superior gloss and water spot prevention. Waxes typically sit on top of the clear coat of a vehicle's paint whereas Paint Shield will bind to the clear coat.

How is Paint Shield different from the other popular brands out there?

Paint Shield is not a wax, it is not a waterless wash and was made for those that want a quality product with NO GIMMICKS. There is no grape or watermelon smell, after-all I am sure you are not going to eat your coating. In fact, Paint Shield has no smell! The application process is easy, quick, and long lasting. You do not need to apply Paint Shield every time you wash your vehicle, and 20-25ml will coat the average size car.

For what surfaces is Paint Shield suitable for?

You may use Paint Shield on the solid surfaces of your vehicle, like glass, paint, and plastic. Typically used on cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs and boats. It is important to properly wash your vehicle before and we suggest paint decontamination using a Clay Bar. For those individuals who have not used a clay bar, Dagda has an easy-to-use clay bar and may be purchased here. The key to keeping your paint protected and shining for a long time to come is by properly preparing the surface and our Speed Clay Bar will help you do that.

Does Paint Shield offer protection against the suns UV rays, and other environmental factors?

Paint Shield protects against the harsh UV rays, air pollution, up to 95% of water spots, bug or bird residues, and road grime. It makes cleaning your vehicle of bugs and tar a lot easier as well.

Is Paint Shield environmentally friendly, non-toxic and VOC compliant?

Yes to all the above. We take pride in producing car detailer quality products that are environmentally friendly with the home detailer in mind. Our products are non-toxic, and 100% VOC compliant. They do not contain harsh acids or heavy solvents and are 100% free of hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids.

Does Paint Shield help reduce water spots?

Water spots are painful to see and in some cases difficult to remove, so the idea is to not allow them to deposit on your vehicle in the first place. Paint Shield will stop 95% of all water spots from accumulating on your vehicle's paint. If you have water spots already on your paint, please remove them using a water spot remover, and then decontaminate your vehicle's paint as suggested using the Dagda Ultimate Clay Bar. Paint Shield will prevent up to 95% of the high calcium/ mineral/ water deposits from settling on your vehicle’s paint surface which causes water spots to form, but if there is any hard water sitting on the surface, it should be cleaned off immediately and not be allowed to dry as much as possible.
